Honeydew Organic Honey - 300g jar
Honeydew (or Forest) honey is liquid and viscous, amber-colored, very dark with dull tinges shifting from red to brown. The aroma is intense and remembers of caramel and stewed fruit. Forest honey is not very sweet and quite persistent; it recalls caramel, fig jam and dates. It is not very sweet and its texture is silky. It is the only honey that does not derive from blossom nectar, however it is excreted by plant-sucking insects such as aphids. It is harvested at the end of the Summer in the woods of some regions: Piedmont, Emilia Romagna and Abruzzo.
The MIELIZIA BIO line stems from the extensive experience of Conapi beekeepers in organic beekeeping techniques. Our beekeepers' hives are located far from sources of pollution, and the bees are raised with full respect for their natural rhythms and cared for using natural methods to protect them from disease.
Mielizia Bio honeys are unpasteurized: they are produced at temperatures never exceeding 40°C—the temperature of the hive—to preserve their flavor, aroma, and nutritional properties.
